Visionary Project
losing control
This project was mainly inspired by the current world situation which was COVID-19.
It is a visionary project because we showed all of other ideas, storyboard , final designs on a computer based software like Photoshop, AUTOCAD , sketchup and procreate .
This project is to design an arena concert or event choosing our own band,artist and create a interesting visionary pack show. To start of we research a range of technologies that could be used to enhance the show such as projection, holograms, apps and many more.

When starting this project we were asked to create some art pieces from any media to represent how i feel with 'losing control' during the COVID-19 situation.
Here is some pieces i have done using procreate , photography and painting.
Each work shows how i felt fire in my mind, the feeling of falling, screaming and chaos.
Doing this helped with the project because i knew i had to make an event that connected to the audiences with their own emotions and make them not feel alone. It also helped me know how procreate could be used to present my working and final designs.
Sketchbook ideas
Here are some photos showing a range of initial ideas i had for the design of the concert and mostly the design for Alice Cooper.
The sunburst colour palette was a idea i had stright away that i knew would express the explosion f emtions and creativity all artist i have chosen fo the event will bring.
The waterfall was an idea that i thought showed how the natural flow of our life can be over whelming, unpredictable but also enjoyable and beautiful. I wanted this to be a big part of my final design for the arena.

When i started to design my ideas for the event i had to chose which artist i wanted to show, i chose four different bands and artist that i knew would all express strong emotions and visual impactful imaginary.
I have chosen Alice Cooper, jack black, Tito and tarantula and the eagles. They all lnk with the the losing control within their story lined lyrics that express the loss in one self and their journey of life.
Here shows the first ideas that i had which included emerging all aesthetics of each artist on one stage that covered the hole arena, creating some sort of run way with platforms and massive set pieces that can also be hung from above.
Digital ideas
I started the design my main ideas for the event using procreate after i made some physical art pieces and final sketches.
The metal movable platform was the main focus of my design that i wanted to create four separate platforms for each artist. i would then have sculptures, lighting and projection around the arena and the platforms.
I also used this software to start the designs of the costumes for the artist, Here you can see the one for Alice Cooper. The idea of a giant LED lit cross would connect to Alice because of his religious side, which would very impactful and interesting to see int he event.

For the final designs i have tried to show certain aspects of the event and how it will look for each artist or movement that happens.
The waterfall is the main feature which would be made out of smoke and haze with projection mapping over the smoke to resemble the flow water and lights behind the smoke to shows the colour of the water. At the bottom would be a bed of real water that the platforms will be control out of.
The artist will walk along the water to get to their platforms which will raise once all artist have entered.
The projection screens on the sides will be LED stripped and shows movie like clips connecting to each artist songs when they perform.
A massive guitar will be used for the entrance of Tito that will come through the waterfall and glade along the floor. An giant eagle will fly in from the ceiling for the landing and entrance of the band the Eagles. Alice cooper will enter in a lit up silk fabric that will be attached to his body, allowing him to move around the air onto the platform. Jack Black will also enter from above, standing on a horn lit up platform that will then be fixed to his platform.
On Titos platform there is sand to represent the desert which seems to be an interest to his music videos and films, Alice's platform will feature LED strips and the silk that will move around him while he sings like fire. The Eagles and Jacks platform also have LED floor lights that each have a certain colour which connects to their costumes. The Eagles also have neon lit palm trees which connect to Hollywood and their own lyrics of perfect views and dreams.
The whole design was heavily based on the four elements, earth, wind, fire and rain which i believe i have shown in the sculptures and features on each platform and surrounding areas. I chose this because it also connects to the artist lyrics which show the lose of control within these elements.
Costume ideas

Here shows the T shirt designs i have created that i wanted each of the artists to wear that connects them all together. I wanted to include the word 'The Elements' because that is the name i chose for the event. I also wanted to include natural imagery to shows the four elements that is the focus point to this event.
I didn't want to change the whole costumes of each artist because it would then change their personalty to much which would take away their own uniqueness that they bring to the event. I added LED strips to certain items of their clothing that seems to be the main feature of their own costume design. These LEDs also connect them together and each one has their own colour that would be used in the design of their platforms in the event.
I created these T- shirts because it also could be purchased by the audience as merchandise which would allow them to take something memorable from the event.
I also added the LED on the guitar of Jack Black which his colour is yellow , on the Eagles jacket which is the colour blue, on Alice's jacket and cane which is red and on Titos tassels and guitar which is green.
